This one gets me everytime. It is remmparkanly like a Balthus landscape. It could be from a plane or simply sitting high up a hil, it doesn’t matter. Yet Iam drawn into it, as a mysterious plce or time or both. I’d be interested to know the source inspiration, a photo, a memory, a drawing . . . suspect a photo. Size? Board. Pixels hide so much. BB
Hi Barry, you’re right, it’s from a photo. It’s an inhabited volcano crater in Ecuador called Pululahua. I spent a couple of months in Ecuador in 2016 . I took the photo looking down from the edge of the crater. I used it to practise painting clouds. The painting is oils on canvas, 45cm by 60cm. Glad you like it. Sue
